Driven by melodic metalcore that blends heavy riffs, clean choruses, post-hardcore accents and electronic textures, Acres has made a mark on the British alternative scene with songwriting focused on emotional tension and dynamic contrasts. The English four-piece, centered on Ben Lumber, Alex Freeman, Jack Rogers and Ash Scott, gained momentum with the 2019 album Lonely World, where Acres honed a sound of massive grooves, melodic vocals and harsher passages. That direction continued on 2023’s Burning Throne, a more upfront record that still pays close attention to the balance between rhythmic impact, accessible melodies and dark atmospheres. In 2025 Acres opens a new chapter with The Host, produced by Landon Tewers of The Plot In You, and launched by the single “Bloodlust.”
