Ariel Posen
Based in Winnipeg, Canada, Ariel Posen develops a project that blends roots rock, blues, folk and soul, driven by a very melodic slide-guitar style and songwriting focused on the songs. First noticed as the guitarist with The Bros. Landreth, Ariel Posen moved toward a solo career at the end of the 2010s, which has allowed him to highlight his singing and his work on arrangements. His debut album, How Long (2019), opened a series of records where slow ballads, atmospheric moods and more groove-oriented tracks intersect, continued with Headway (2021) and Reasons Why (2023), as well as an EP titled Mile End. In the studio as on stage, Ariel Posen favors a warm, detailed sound in which the guitar serves the melodies rather than showmanship. Between tours in North America and Europe, collaborations with other roots musicians and regular activity as a guitar educator, Ariel Posen has built a career that combines songwriting, session work and fronting a band.
