Ariel Posen: Future Present Tense Tour

On 19 February 2026 Ariel Posen brings his Future Present Tense Tour to the Artheater in Cologne. The Winnipeg-based guitarist and songwriter blends roots rock, blues, folk and soul into songs where the melody sets the direction. His trademark is melodic slide guitar — always in service of the song and precise — together with a warm, uncluttered sound and arrangements that leave room for dynamics.

Posen first became known as the guitarist for The Bros. Landreth before launching his solo career in the late 2010s. Since then he has released How Long (2019), Headway (2021) and Reasons Why (2023), as well as the EP Mile End. On stage he spans the range from quiet ballads and atmospheric pieces to groovier numbers; the set focuses on songwriting, interplay and attention to detail rather than sheer virtuosity.

At the Artheater, Posen will present a selection from his existing repertoire alongside current material from the tour. The emphasis is on song-centered arrangements, clear hooks and a guitar that carries the melodies without getting lost in long solos.
