Jimena Amarillo

Born in Valencia, Jimena Amarillo emerged in the early 2020s within Spanish independent pop, blending intimate songwriting, immediate melodies and light production at the crossroads of indie pop, bedroom pop and chanson. Trained early on the violin and later self-taught on guitar, she developed a direct approach to composition before releasing her first songs online in the summer of 2020. That emergence led to her debut album, Cómo decirte, mi amor, released in 2021, where her lo-fi approach, short choruses and conversational tone were already central. In 2022 she released the EP Mientras ando with Belicemanu, a collaboration that extends a simple, everyday aesthetic focused on feelings, relationships and daily details. Based in Madrid from 2023, she then broadened her scope with La pena no es cómoda (2023), a more structured record that retains the same vocal intimacy while opening up the arrangements. Her third album, ANGÉLIKA, was released in 2025. Positioned within recent Spanish pop and indie scenes, Jimena Amarillo works in concise, sentimental and direct music, carried by an understated voice and straightforward writing.
