Shy FX

Born in London, Andre Williams — known as Shy FX — has built a career closely tied to the history of British jungle and drum and bass. Active since the early 1990s, Shy FX released his first track, «Jungle Love», in 1992, later signed to Sound of the Underground and made a major impact with «Original Nuttah» in 1994, recorded with UK Apache — a pivotal record in blending ragga, bass music and fast breakbeats. His work combines jungle rhythms, deep basslines, dancehall heritage and sound-system culture, with production that remains clear and focused on rhythmic impact. Over the years Shy FX has frequently collaborated with T Power, notably on «Shake Ur Body», and on the albums Set It Off (2002) and Diary of a Digital Sound Boy (2005). In 2005 he founded the Digital Soundboy label, a home for drum and bass, dubstep, house and the crossovers between UK club scenes. His career also includes productions for Dizzee Rascal, tracks with Ms. Dynamite, Liam Bailey, Breakage and Maverick Sabre, and a notable appearance on the Rebel Sound project in 2014 alongside Chase & Status, David Rodigan and MC Rage.
