Medina
Born Andrea Fuentealba Valbak in Risskov near Aarhus, Medina established herself in Danish pop with a repertoire that blends pop, R&B and club‑oriented electropop, driven by direct songwriting and dance‑focused productions. Of Danish‑Chilean origin, she released a first Danish album, Tæt på, in 2007, before moving toward a more electronic pop sound with Velkommen til Medina in 2009, an album that firmly placed her name in the Scandinavian music scene. Medina later developed an English‑language strand with Welcome to Medina (2010), followed by Forever (2012) and We Survive (2016), alongside Danish projects such as For altid (2011) and Grim (2018). Her trajectory alternates between radio‑friendly pop formats, dance tracks and songs with stronger R&B influence, with regular appearances on Denmark’s major stages. Over the course of her career she has also multiplied collaborations, notably with Thomas Helmig and Burhan G, while maintaining a visible presence in Nordic pop through releases in both Danish and English.
