Based between Woodbridge, Virginia and a strong online presence, Tommy Richman establishes in the early 2020s an identity at the crossroads of R&B, pop and melodic rap. Initially released via streaming platforms and social media, his music rests on pronounced bass lines, rhythms influenced as much by trap as by recent club scenes, and a often-processed voice that plays with register changes. Through a succession of digital singles he refines a blend of alternative R&B, funk and pop, favoring short, immediate formats rather than the traditional album.
