IAMDDB

Born in Lisbon and raised in Manchester within an Anglo-Portuguese family, IAMDDB, real name Diana De Brito, has since the mid-2010s developed a stylistic register at the crossroads of alternative hip-hop, trap, R&B, neo-soul and jazz inflections. Her path takes shape after early self-produced tracks, followed by the projects Waeveybby, Vol. 1 in 2016, Vibe, Volume 2 in 2017 and Hoodrich, Vol. 3 in 2017, which establish a flexible writing style, often half-rapped, half-sung, over slow, hazy and rhythmically marked productions. Based in the British scene but nourished by Afro-diasporic influences, IAMDDB then sharpens this identity with Flightmode, Vol. 4 in 2018, Kare Package and Swervvvvv.5 in 2019, where soul textures, laid-back phrasing, airy melodies and passages in Portuguese mingle. Over the years, IAMDDB also appears alongside artists and producers such as Diplo, The Mouse Outfit, Lenzman, iLL BLU or Masego, while maintaining a largely independent orientation. On stage, IAMDDB has circulated between tours and festivals in the UK and Europe, with appearances at Glastonbury, Field Day, Reading & Leeds, Parklife or Afropunk. In 2024, IAMDDB released the album Love is War, Vol. 6, which extends her blend of rap, singing and vaporous atmospheres in a more expansive form.
