RUBII
Rooted in a family of musicians in the United Kingdom, RUBII is shaping a project where hip-hop, neo-soul, R&B and shades of garage-soul intertwine. RUBII's voice, composed and melodic, sits within often intimate productions, with particular attention to vocal harmonies and hushed atmospheres. The lyrics favor an introspective, conversational register—close to a diary—addressing relationships, doubts, and the small adjustments of everyday life. Following a first single, "Bitter Lips," which marked their studio debut, RUBII has gradually built a discography around short formats. The EP "Repose" arrived in 2020, laying the foundations of a soul and R&B aesthetic; it was followed in 2023 by "Olive Green," where hip-hop influences come further to the fore. In 2024, the EP "Change & Remain" continues this exploration of the liminal spaces between melodic rap and neo-soul. Tracks like "BOTB," "Fool," "Jealousy," "Dreams" and "Night Drive" punctuate RUBII's path and illustrate the constant tension between rhythmic energy, emotional nuance, and the pursuit of a distinctive songwriting voice.
