Jaz Karis

Based in south London, Jaz Karis creates contemporary R&B that is both supple and melodic, infused with soul, neo‑soul, pop and, on some tracks, subtler afro influences. Emerging in the late 2010s, she first released the EPs Into the Wilderness in 2017 and Summer Stories in 2019, where her songwriting already focused on relationships, doubt and introspection, carried by a soft, precise voice. Her profile grew with "Petty Lover" and a COLORS session, which helped cement her place in the new British R&B scene. In 2020 she featured on "Soweto Blues" by producer Juls, a collaboration that showed how naturally her vocals fit formats closer to afrobeats and soulful house while remaining rooted in soul. After the Dear Jaz project in 2021, she continued to blend hushed ballads, light grooves and more expansive choruses, both on record and on stage, touring with RAYE, Tom Misch and Stonebwoy. Her debut album, SAFE FLIGHT, was released in 2024.
