Ana Roxanne
Born in California and hailing from the Filipino-American community of Vallejo in the San Francisco Bay, Ana Roxanne creates music at the intersection of ambient, experimental, and vocal composition. Her work blends electronic soundscapes, choral singing, a jazz-informed approach, and influences from Hindustani classical music into a slow, meditative writing style with close attention to timbre. Before launching her solo project, Ana Roxanne studied jazz and classical music in Iowa, sang in vocal ensembles, spent time in Minneapolis playing in a progressive rock band, deepened her study of Hindustani singing in India, and then attended Mills College in Oakland — a formative setting for her turn toward experimental music. She initially circulated the EP ~~~ privately in 2015, before a wider release in 2019 via Leaving Records. Her debut album, Because of a Flower, was released in 2020 and extends this ambient, introspective aesthetic, placing voice, textures, and the question of the body at the center. In 2023 she collaborated with DJ Python as part of the duo Natural Wonder Beauty Concept on a joint album, and she released Poem 1 in 2026.
