Youngr

Established on the UK electronic scene, Youngr has been developing a solo project since the mid-2010s at the intersection of pop, melodic house and funk. Born Dario Darnell into a musical family and the son of August Darnell (Kid Creole), he grew up between the United Kingdom and the United States before pursuing a career as a producer and multi-instrumentalist. Youngr gained attention with one-take filmed performances in which he layers vocals, drums, keyboards and loops live, often through reinterpretations of pop and indie tracks that circulate widely online. Boosted by the single “Out Of My System” in 2016, he followed with regular releases, remixes and collaborations with writers and producers from the European pop and dance scenes. On stage he most often performs solo in a hybrid format that sits between a live concert and an electronic set, appearing in clubs as well as at international festivals. His writing remains centred on direct pop structures, pronounced basslines and a very rhythmic use of percussion, grounding Youngr in an accessible dance-music aesthetic designed for both listening and live performance.
