Goldfish
Active since the mid-2000s, GoldFish is a South African electronic duo formed in Cape Town by Dominic Peters and David Poole, two jazz musicians now based in San Diego, California. GoldFish develops dance music that blends house, pop, jazz and African influences, centrally incorporating acoustic instruments such as saxophone, flute, piano and double bass into more traditional electronic structures. After a debut album, Caught in the Loop (2006), the project drew attention with Perceptions of Pacha (2008) and confirmed this direction with Get Busy Living (2010) and Three Second Memory (2013), before continuing with Late Night People (2017) and If Summer Was A Sound (2023). On stage, GoldFish occupies the crossroads between a live band and a DJ set, which has taken them to international festivals like Glastonbury, Ultra Music Festival and SXSW, as well as opening slots for artists from the British and European house and electro scenes. The duo is also notable for several remixes, notably of Wyclef Jean and Avicii's 'Divine Sorrow', and for the use of some tracks in international advertising campaigns.
