Addison Groove
Born in Bristol as Tony Williams, Addison Groove first drew attention on the British dubstep scene under the alias Headhunter, notably with the album 'Nomad' released in 2008 on Tempa, before evolving his work toward a drier, more rhythmic writing under the name Addison Groove. His music crosses dubstep, juke, footwork, techno and UK bass, with a marked taste for direct percussive structures, taut basslines and vocal slicing inherited as much from Chicago as from Bristol. Addison Groove emerged around 2010 with the track 'Footcrab', often associated with that shift between British sound-system culture and the cadences of juke, and went on to release on Swamp 81, Tectonic, 50 Weapons, 3024 and Gutterfunk. Over time he has moved between DJ formats, live shows and audiovisual projects, notably with Vector Meldrew, while remaining connected to clubs and festivals where techno, bass music and dancefloor experimentation meet. Appearances at venues like Fabric, Berghain and Boiler Room highlight a career rooted in European electronic scenes without being tied to a single aesthetic.
