Sanguisugabogg

Formed in Columbus, Ohio, Sanguisugabogg stake their claim in the American death metal scene by blending brutal death, slam influences, and a distinctly groove-driven approach to riffing. Built around a core quartet, the band emerged in the late 2010s with the 2019 demo/EP “Pornographic Seizures,” released via specialist label Maggot Stomp, which quickly placed them within the underground circuit of new death metal acts. Sanguisugabogg then sharpened their identity on the 2021 album “Tortured Whole,” combining crushing tempos, prominently forward guttural vocals, repetitive rhythms, and graphic, gore-focused imagery in the vein of the most hard-hitting death metal. Signed to Century Media Records, the band continued along this path on 2023’s “Homicidal Ecstasy,” heightening the contrasts between slow passages and sharper, faster breaks while maintaining direct songwriting centered on groove and rhythmic impact. Active on tour across North America and Europe, Sanguisugabogg have made their mark primarily on club stages and extreme music festivals, where their brutal, minimalist aesthetic sits comfortably alongside other contemporary death metal outfits.
