Edgär

On the Amiens scene, the electro-pop duo Edgär brings together Antoine and Ronan around a melodic pop that blends electronic textures, acoustic folk and the heritage of French chanson. Formed in the mid-2010s after several local-band experiences, Edgär focuses on voices and harmonies, with introspective lyrics that move between French and English. Their first EP, Persona (2017), followed by Walking into Heaven (2020), gradually established their universe between stripped-down ballads and more danceable tracks, and allowed the duo to rack up over 150 concerts across France. In 2022 Edgär released Secret, their first album conceived as a series of confidences exchanged between the two musicians, combining luminous pop, more pared-back guitar songs and pieces with chanson-like contours — notably “The Lights”, “Dead End” and “Réveille-moi”. Edgär’s compositions often play on the contrast between rhythmic energy and melancholy, addressing intimate vulnerabilities and the relationship to oneself and the contemporary world, placing the duo in a French electro/pop vein committed to personal storytelling as much as melodic effectiveness.
