Colours in the Street
Colours in the Street is an indie-pop project formed in Niort, France, in the early 2010s, built around singer–guitarist Alexandre Ragon and joined by musicians from the same regional scene. The band crafts modern, English-language pop that sits between melodic indie rock and synthetic textures, with a strong emphasis on choruses and cinematic atmospheres. After several early demos and local shows, Colours in the Street released the EP Paper Child in 2013, which established them on the French independent pop scene. The debut album Never Mind (2015) confirmed this direction with more assured songwriting and a broader sound, while the second album All the Colours (2020) brought in richer electronic textures and greater contrasts between ballads and more upbeat tracks. Between studio work and live performances, Colours in the Street has been steadily refining its identity, touring and opening for other acts, and belonging to a generation of French bands who favour English-language pop songwriting while remaining rooted in the French context.
