Danyl
Born in 1998 in Saint-Maurice (Val-de-Marne) into a Franco-Algerian family, Danyl grew up between Créteil and Paris’s 13th arrondissement, between conservatory piano studies and popular styles like raï, chaâbi, French chanson and rap. Trained in music theory and classical piano, he turned early to composition and began his teens as a beatmaker, later providing instrumentals to artists such as SDM, Ninho and Bianca Costa. He then started rapping under the name Hashey Sen, releasing the EP Appels manqués and the 2020 project Partition, where a blend of melodic rap, North African influences and introspective songwriting already emerged. From 2020 onward Danyl focused mainly on production, creating many tracks for other rappers and singers while developing a live-creation format on Twitch that led him to compose, write and record with real-time audience feedback. His return under his own name took shape with the EP trilogy Khedma 1 and Khedma 2 in 2023 and Khedma 3 in 2024, featuring songs like Billie Eilish, Galbi, Nouveau riche with Karmen or Bledi mon amour, many conceived live. Danyl followed with collaborative singles such as Ti amo with Stony Stone, Ligne 9 with Tuerie, Les Zhommes with Zamdane or Zendaya, and appeared on projects by Benab, Tawsen, Oxmo Puccino, Kore and Bianca Costa. His rap moves between autotuned singing, melancholic or sunlit productions and references to his dual cultural roots, with a strong emphasis on direct engagement with listeners—from social media to concerts and festivals in France, Belgium and Switzerland.
