Kakkmaddafakka

Formed in Bergen in 2004 around brothers Axel and Pål Vindenes with their friends Stian Sævig and Jonas Nielsen, Kakkmaddafakka is part of the Norwegian scene of the New Bergen Wave with a sound that blends indie pop, rock, disco, light funk and touches of rap. The band, whose lineup has evolved over the years, first drew attention for a highly crafted live energy, at times carried by backing vocalists and dancers who became a recurring element of its concerts. After the EP Allready Your Favourite EP in 2007, Kakkmaddafakka released the same year Down To Earth, then Hest in 2011, Six Months Is a Long Time in 2013, KMF in 2016, Hus in 2017, Diplomacy in 2019 and Revelation in 2022. Their music rests on nervy guitars, catchy pop choruses, danceable rhythms and often collective singing, with writing that alternates between indie rock tension and brighter melodies. Having been present on many European stages since the late 2000s, Kakkmaddafakka has played both in clubs and festivals, notably in Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands or Scandinavia, while maintaining a band identity based on movement, ensemble playing and a marked taste for direct formats.
