Yukon Blonde

Born from Kelowna’s independent scene in British Columbia and later based in Vancouver, Yukon Blonde formed in 2008 around Jeff Innes following his experience with the band Alphababy. The group, which brings together several singers and songwriters, initially pursued guitar-driven indie rock infused with power pop and vocal harmonies, before evolving its songwriting toward more psychedelic textures, synth-pop and new wave across its records. Early milestones were the EP Everything in Everyway (2009) and the album Yukon Blonde (2010), which established the band’s melodic signature. Tiger Talk (2012) emphasized rhythmic energy and direct choruses, while On Blonde (2015) explored denser, more colorful arrangements. The pop and electronic dimension became more pronounced on Critical Hit (2018) and Vindicator (2020), and Shuggie (2023) continues this hybrid trajectory. Active on stages in Canada and abroad, Yukon Blonde remains identified with accessible songwriting driven by tight backing vocals and a taste for songs built around immediate melodies.
