Yonaka

Based in Brighton, England, Yonaka established themselves on the British rock scene in the mid-2010s around Theresa Jarvis (vocals), George Werbrouck-Edwards (guitar), Alex Crosby (bass, keyboards) and Robert Mason (drums). Yonaka developed a sound that sits between alternative rock, pop rock and touches of punk, driven by massive guitars, a strong sense of chorus and rhythms often influenced by hip‑hop and contemporary pop. Their early EPs Heavy (2017), Teach Me To Fight (2018) and Creature (2018) gradually put the band on the circuit of mid‑size venues and festivals in the UK and later in Europe. The debut album Don’t Wait ’Til Tomorrow (2019) heightened the focus on intimate themes and mental health, a strand the band extended with the mixtape Seize The Power (2021), where they broadened their palette toward a more hybrid writing approach. With the EP Welcome To My House (2023), Yonaka continued to balance direct rock energy, accessible pop structures and modernized production, regularly presenting this mix live alongside alternative rock groups, metal acts and indie‑pop artists.
