Alvaro Soler
Born in Barcelona in 1991 into a Spanish-German family, Álvaro Soler developed a background shaped by multiple cultures, marked by a childhood split between Spain, Germany and a long stay in Tokyo. After an initial experience with the group Urban Lights, he moved towards a solo career and broke through in 2015 with the single El mismo sol, which opened the door to a repertoire of Latin pop with acoustic colours, driven by choruses sung in Spanish and occasionally in other languages. His first album, Eterno Agosto, was released in 2015, followed by Mar de Colores in 2018 and Magia in 2021, each record deepening a blend of pop, folk influences and Latin rhythms, with a prominent role for guitar and backing vocals. Álvaro Soler has collaborated widely, notably with Jennifer Lopez on a version of El mismo sol and with the Colombian band Morat, and he has established himself on European pop stages through tours and festivals. Mainly based in Germany, he divides his time between writing, recording and television appearances on music shows, consolidating his profile as a singer-songwriter at the crossroads of the Spanish- and German-speaking scenes.
