Bear Grillz

Active since 2013 under the name Bear Grillz, Robert James Pangelinan is an American producer and DJ born in Los Angeles County and based in Denver, Colorado. Bear Grillz emerged in the bass music sphere with a masked visual identity, initially using a bear costume and later a glowing bear head, before revealing his identity in 2016. His repertoire sits within dubstep, drumstep and EDM, featuring productions centered on prominent bass, abrupt rhythms and arrangements crafted for club and festival formats. After early EPs The High Grade (2013) and They Made Us Change The Name (2014) on Firepower Records, Bear Grillz released Bear Grillz & Friends, The Unbearable and Mo Honey Mo Problems in 2016, followed by TOO LOUD in 2018 on Dim Mak. His discography also includes the albums Demons (2019), Friends: The Album (2020) and Prismata (Light & Dark) (2022). Across his releases he has alternated solo tracks with collaborations alongside Figure, Sullivan King, Adventure Club, Dion Timmer and Riot Ten, remaining associated with North American electronic scenes oriented toward dubstep and bass music.
