Bryan's Magic Tears
Born in the mid-2010s out of Paris’s independent scene, Bryan's Magic Tears plays a form of rock at the crossroads of shoegaze, noise pop and an indie sensibility steeped in DIY culture. The band, signed to the French label Born Bad Records, first emerged with a self-titled debut in 2016, characterised by a lo-fi aesthetic, saturated guitars and straightforward melodic songwriting. With “4AM” in 2018, Bryan's Magic Tears pushed the blurred textures and guitar washes further, creating a more nocturnal mood that oscillates between slowed-down ballads and bursts of feedback. “Vacation”, released in 2021, confirmed this approach by refining song structures and giving more space to the vocals, without abandoning the abrasive grain or the repeated hooks. On stage, the band is part of a network of venues and festivals focused on independent rock across France and Europe, where it translates its songs into denser, louder versions. Combining psychedelic inheritance, garage energy and pop sensitivity, Bryan's Magic Tears thus situates itself within a contemporary strand of francophone rock while remaining largely oriented toward an Anglo-Saxon imagination.
