Gus Englehorn

Born in Alaska and based in Québec, Gus Englehorn crafts an indie rock universe with folk and lo‑fi inflections, marked by a taste for abrupt tonal shifts and off‑kilter melodies. After an initial career in professional snowboarding, he turned to songwriting and recorded his first album, 'Death & Transfiguration', in 2020, blending intimate atmospheres, abrasive guitars and vocals often bordering on spoken word. Later signed to Montreal label Secret City Records, he released 'Dungeon Master' in 2022, a record that pushes further his preference for unsteady structures, repetitive choruses and an almost theatrical vocal approach. On stage, Gus Englehorn most often appears in a tight formation, as a duo with drummer and visual artist Estée Preda, which reinforces the raw, direct feel of his shows—between minimalist rock, near‑noise passages and more narrative moments.
