Cathedrale
Based in Toulouse, Cathedrale has been developing a taut rock sound since the early 2010s that sits between post-punk, garage and proto-punk impulses, with jagged guitars, a direct front vocal and tight rhythms that retain a clear pop readability. Over more than ten years of activity, Cathedrale has built its trajectory on stage and in the studio, starting with short-format releases and progressing to five albums, evolving from direct songwriting toward denser, darker tracks. The band has played the independent scenes of France and Europe, notably alongside Thee Oh Sees, Frustration, Rendez-vous and Uranium Club, which highlights its place in a network where abrasive rock, punk urgency and a taste for crisp melodies intersect. For Poison, recorded and mixed in Brussels with Mathieu Versini, Cathedrale accentuates a more introspective dimension without abandoning its nervous core. The band retains the effectiveness of its songs while working more on arrangements, within a more compact, sometimes shadowier aesthetic that extends its identity without rupture.
