MNNQNS

Formed in Rouen in 2013 around Adrian d’Epinay, MNNQNS settled as a quartet with Grégoire Mainot, Félix Ramaën and Hugo Van Leene, in a lineup that combines nervous guitars, taut bass, upfront drums and keyboards. The band initially developed a rock sound rooted in post-punk and indie, heard on the EPs Capital (2016) and Advertisement (2018), before expanding its vocabulary on the album Body Negative (2019), released on FatCat Records. With Deviant By Ego (2021) and The Second Principle (2022), MNNQNS moved toward a more experimental approach, with synthesizers taking a larger role and the relationship to rhythm, repetition and dissonance becoming more pronounced. In 2023 the group extended this phase with The Second Principle // EXTENDED //. MNNQNS has toured in France and internationally, played festivals such as Rock en Seine and les Eurockéennes, and shared bills with Franz Ferdinand, Temples and Lee Ranaldo. In 2024 MNNQNS also presented MOTHERSHIP, a stage piece focused on synthesizers, with Robin Plante and Raphaël Quenehen.
