Virtual Riot

Under the name Virtual Riot, German producer and DJ Christian Valentin Brunn, born in 1994 in Marl, North Rhine-Westphalia, has developed since the early 2010s a highly detailed approach to bass music. Active within the international EDM sphere, Virtual Riot initially focused on dubstep and brostep, incorporating elements of complextro, drum and bass, future bass and electro house, with dense rhythmic work and prominent melodies. After first tracks released online and on specialized labels, he joined Disciple Recordings, which became the main platform for his discography and numerous collaborations within the bass music scene. Virtual Riot released the long-format Simulation in 2013, then the album German Engineering in 2021; in between he issued EPs, remixes and joint projects, notably Chemistry in 2018 with 12th Planet and Koven. Very active on production platforms and in sharing knowledge about sound design, Virtual Riot has simultaneously developed a career as a DJ, performing sets oriented toward dubstep and its offshoots on stages and at festivals in Europe and North America.
