Till Brönner

Born in Viersen, Germany in 1971, Till Brönner has established himself in the European jazz landscape as a trumpeter and bugler, with a playing style anchored in contemporary jazz but often open to pop, soul, bossa nova and crooner orchestrations. Trained at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne, notably under Malte Burba, he joined the RIAS Big Band as early as 1991, before launching his discography under his own name with Generations of Jazz in 1993. Over the years, Till Brönner develops a refined aesthetic, marked by a hushed tone, elegant arrangements, and a taste for vocal formats as much as for instrumental ones. His career leads him to play with musicians such as Dave Brubeck, Tony Bennett, Joe Sample, or Klaus Doldinger, but also to produce Hildegard Knef's 17 Millimeter in 1999. Among his albums are Oceana (2006), recorded in Los Angeles, and Nightfall (2018). Till Brönner has also composed for cinema, taught jazz trumpet at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden from 2009, and alongside has pursued work as a photographer exhibited in galleries and museums.
