Peter Cincotti

Born in New York in 1983, pianist and singer Peter Cincotti has developed a repertoire at the intersection of jazz, pop and American song. Trained on the piano from an early age, he performed as a teenager in Manhattan clubs before gaining attention in the early 2000s on the jazz festival circuit. His first studio album, simply titled Peter Cincotti and released in 2003, combines standards and original compositions within a vocal jazz aesthetic, followed in 2004 by On the Moon, which extends his work around swing and ballads. With East of Angel Town (2007), Cincotti’s writing moved toward a more sophisticated, narrative pop, a shift further emphasized on Metropolis in 2012, where the arrangements embrace more contemporary colors. Long Way from Home, released in 2017, reflects a more intimate, singer-songwriter–centered approach. Alternating between solo piano recitals and group lineups, Peter Cincotti performs in jazz clubs, theaters and on international tours, while occasionally collaborating with musicians from the jazz and pop spheres and appearing in a few film and television projects.
