Info
On April 15, 2027, Till Brönner will take the stage at the Metropol Theater Bremen with his project “Italia – Ancora!”, together with the SWR Big Band. Brönner has, since the 1990s, stood for a jazz that is cleanly produced yet remains open: contemporary at its core, but with brief forays into pop, soul, bossa nova, or crooner arrangements. This very mix suits a program that does not present Italian colors as clichés but uses them as a soundscape. With his often muted, focused trumpet tone and a sense of elegant dramaturgy, Brönner sets accents, while the Big Band makes the sound grand, without masking it. Those who know him from his own albums such as “Oceana” or “Nightfall” will again find the same handwriting here: clear lines, ample space between the notes, and a penchant for melody—only in a big-band format, direct and close to the live moment.
