TTC
Formed in Paris in the late 1990s, TTC brings together Teki Latex, Cuizinier and Tido Berman around a French rap that quickly departs from the genre’s classic codes to incorporate electro, the absurd, spoken word and a writing deliberately offbeat. First spotted in the underground with the EP Game Over ’99 in 1999 and close links with La Caution, the group develops a singular identity both on stage and on record, also carried by producers Para One and Tacteel, as well as by DJ Orgasmic in his wider circle. TTC releases Ceci n’est pas un disque in 2002 on Big Dada, then Bâtards sensibles in 2004, where electronic textures take more room, before 3615 TTC in 2006, an album more direct in its pop and club construction. Throughout this journey, TTC moves between independent rap, electro culture and hybrid scenes, with collaborations notably with Modeselektor, dDamage or DJ Vadim, while remaining associated with the Institubes ecosystem and the members’ side projects. The group’s separation was announced by Teki Latex in 2013, after a trajectory that marked the crossings between French hip-hop, electronic and the nascent internet culture of the 2000s.
