The Sadies

Formed in Toronto in 1994 around Dallas Good and Sean Dean, later joined by drummer Mike Belitsky and guitarist/fiddler Travis Good, The Sadies fit within a Canadian tradition that blends country and western, rock'n'roll, surf, garage rock, psychedelia and hints of western soundtrack motifs. Linked by family ties to the Good Brothers, The Sadies developed from the outset a highly crafted guitar sound—dry, melodic and often instrumental—documented on albums such as Precious Moments (1998), Tremendous Efforts (2001), Favourite Colours (2004), New Seasons (2007), Darker Circles (2010), Internal Sounds (2013), Northern Passages (2017) and Colder Streams (2022). Alongside their discography, The Sadies frequently moved between their own tours and collaborations with Neko Case, Andre Williams, Jon Langford, John Doe, Neil Young and Gord Downie, as well as the project The Unintended. After Dallas Good's death in 2022, The Sadies continue with Travis Good, Sean Dean and Mike Belitsky, notably on Rick White and the Sadies (2024), recorded with Rick White.
