The Record Company
Based in Los Angeles, the trio The Record Company formed in 2011 around Chris Vos, Alex Stiff, and Marc Cazorla, all of whom had settled in California after various experiences in other projects. Drawing on electric blues, roots rock, and the rhythm and blues of the 1960s and 1970s, The Record Company developed a direct, stripped-down sound driven by a massive rhythm section, gritty guitar riffs, and a distinctly textured voice that places the band within an American rock tradition steeped in soul. First noticed on the Los Angeles local scene and through a series of self-produced EPs, The Record Company gained visibility by opening for established rock and blues acts, then by touring extensively in the United States and Europe. In 2016, the group released its debut studio album, 'Give It Back to You', which set an aesthetic blending original compositions with a blues-rock legacy. It was followed in 2018 by 'All of This Life', on which The Record Company slightly broadened its writing toward a more melodic rock while maintaining an analog, uncluttered approach. In 2021, the album 'Play Loud' signaled a more assertive openness to modern soul influences and denser grooves, without breaking from the blues and rock foundation that defines The Record Company both on stage and in the studio.
