The Dead Daisies

Formed in Sydney in 2012 around Australian guitarist David Lowy and New Zealand singer Jon Stevens, The Dead Daisies brings together musicians from various Australian, British and American rock scenes in a revolving lineup. The band plays straightforward hard rock influenced by the classic rock of the 1970s and 1980s, featuring prominent guitar riffs, melodic choruses and a blues-rock grounding, with production geared toward a live sound. After several singles, their self-titled debut album was released in 2013, followed by Revolución in 2015, partly recorded in Havana, then Make Some Noise in 2016 and the live album Live & Louder in 2017, which drew on European tours. Burn It Down appeared in 2018, the covers collection Locked and Loaded in 2019, and later Holy Ground in 2021 and Radiance in 2022. The vocalist role passed from Jon Stevens to American John Corabi in 2015, then to Glenn Hughes in 2019; Corabi returned to the project in 2023. The rhythm section and guitarists have regularly changed around Lowy, often involving musicians who previously played in established hard rock bands. The Dead Daisies have toured extensively as opening act for international rock names, played numerous festivals and occasionally perform concerts for organisations supporting the armed forces.
