Tha Trickaz

At the crossroads of bass music, hip-hop and Japanese visual culture, Tha Trickaz crafts a world where sound and image move forward together. Based in Paris, producers Pho and iRaize have been shaping, since the late 2000s, a trap- and dubstep-leaning electronic sound, infused with cinematic textures, nods to manga, and a pronounced taste for action-film atmospheres. On stage, Tha Trickaz delivers high-energy live sets built around sampling, breaks, and tempo shifts, often accompanied by video projections and visual work centered on masks and anonymity. The release of the album “Cloud City” in 2016 marked a milestone in Tha Trickaz’s discography, bringing together bass music, hip-hop influences, and more melodic passages within a single project. Since then, the duo has released numerous singles and collaborations with rappers, singers, and producers from the electronic and urban scenes, while maintaining a steady output of remixes and reworks of other artists’ tracks.
