Action Bronson
New York rapper Action Bronson, born in the Flushing neighborhood of Queens, trained as a chef before turning to music around the turn of the 2010s. Emerging from New York’s hip-hop scene, he developed a style rooted in the East Coast tradition, infused with soul, jazz, funk and psychedelic loops, delivered in a deep voice and flexible cadence that favors concrete imagery, humor and everyday detail. Action Bronson came to attention with the album Dr. Lecter in 2011 and followed with notable projects such as Blue Chips with Party Supplies in 2012, Rare Chandeliers with The Alchemist that same year, and the EP Saaab Stories in 2013. His discography expanded with Mr. Wonderful in 2015, Blue Chips 7000 in 2017, White Bronco in 2018, Only for Dolphins in 2020 and Cocodrillo Turbo in 2022. Over the years he has moved between independent rap, festival stages and more cross-disciplinary formats while maintaining a highly identifiable universe at the crossroads of classic New York hip-hop, sample-based collage and narratively inclined writing.
