Daringer

Born in Buffalo, New York, Thomas Paladino produces under the name Daringer, crafting hip‑hop rooted in boom bap and an East Coast aesthetic. His instrumentals are stripped-down, dark and tense, often built around understated loops and dry rhythms. Active since the mid-2000s, Daringer has gradually become the in-house producer for Griselda Records, a collective also from Buffalo, shaping much of the sonic identity carried by Westside Gunn, Conway the Machine and Benny the Butcher. His work also accompanies rappers such as Meyhem Lauren and Rome Streetz, adopting the codes of 1990s New York rap without treating them nostalgically. His approach favors tension, economy of means and a pronounced sense of atmosphere, with touches of jazz and mafioso rap. On stage and in DJ sets, Daringer continues this dense, minimalist writing closely associated with the Buffalo rap scene.
