Flox

An English artist based in France, Flox has been developing since the early 2000s a repertoire at the junction of reggae, dub and electronic music, often associated with nu reggae. Brought to public attention in France by Radio Nova, Flox builds an aesthetic that puts Jamaican rhythms, the deep bass of dub, pop melodic lines and textures inherited from the British electronic scene in dialogue. A multi‑instrumentalist and producer of his own records, Flox evolves his project through several releases, including Taste of Grey in 2018, maintaining a flexible and direct songwriting style focused as much on the song as on the groove. His trajectory moves between reggae and dub stages and programming more open to electronic music, with a stage approach that existed as a band before taking a tighter form, sometimes solo. With Flox, tempos often remain moderate, the bass occupies a structuring place, and the production seeks a balance between organic warmth and digital precision.
