Stand High Patrol
Stand High Patrol is a French dub collective founded in Brest in 2000 around Pupajim, Mac Gyver and Rootystep. From the outset, Stand High Patrol forged a recognisable sound — a hybrid dub aesthetic threaded with influences from hip hop, reggae, bass music and sound system culture. Stand High Patrol does more than produce: it builds an imaginary world, a mythology and a tone: a deep voice pitched between spoken word and rap, rich instrumentation, round, hypnotic basslines and an unrelenting sense of groove. With projects like Midnight Walkers (2012), A Matter of Scale (2015), The Shift (2017) and Outcry (2020), Stand High Patrol became a major signature of the European dub scene, capable of turning clubs and festivals inside out. At the same time, Pupajim’s releases and the collective’s graphic identity reinforce a total universe, free from fashion and built to last. On stage Stand High Patrol delivers a magnetic show where the sound system’s power, vocal writing and rhythmic precision form a single organism — massive and richly detailed. Stand High Patrol is one of the most influential hubs of France’s bass culture, a machine for altered states, calibrated as much for live performance as for deep listening.
