Senbeï

Active on the French beatmaking scene since the late 2000s, Senbeï develops a universe at the crossroads of instrumental hip-hop, electronic and bass music, infused with Asian references, particularly Japanese. A prolific producer, he threads through his tracks with marked rhythms, dense electronic textures and a pronounced taste for sampling, with writing that navigates between club energy, cinematic atmospheres and live formats. Senbeï has also led several duo projects, notably with Smokey Joe & The Kid, Al’Tarba x Senbeï and Slumb, which illuminate different facets of his work, between heavy beats, trap influences, dubstep or trip-hop. His discography under his own name includes the albums Broke and Ill (2011), The Kidz (2014), Naxuva (2018) and Baboon (2023). Over the course of his career, Senbeï has performed on numerous stages in France and internationally, while also contributing to live creations and arrangements for other ensembles, including Deluxe and Chinese Man. This trajectory has positioned Senbeï in a unique space within French electronic music, between beat culture, style hybridization and a visual approach nourished by his interest in imagery.
