La Fine Equipe
Formed in Paris in the late 2000s around three producers from Marseille — oOgo, Mr Gib and Blanka — and later joined by Chomsky, La Fine Equipe developed a sound at the crossroads of electro hip‑hop, instrumental beatmaking and sample culture. The quartet emerged out of mix sessions and the radio show Fine Cuts on Radio Campus Paris, and has since established a steady activity between studio, stage and independent production. La Fine Equipe released La Boulangerie in 2008 and Fantastic Planet in 2010, then continued the collective series with La Boulangerie 2 (2011) and La Boulangerie 3 (2014), each time inviting other beatmakers from the French scene. Their writing blends hip‑hop rhythms, electronic textures, soul, funk or cinematic loops and a strongly live‑oriented approach. At the same time oOgo and Chomsky took part in founding the Nowadays Records label, which supports part of that scene. In 2019 La Fine Equipe issued 5th Season, a record more directly aimed at the dancefloor while remaining committed to dense, collective production. On stage, La Fine Equipe has moved between clubs, festivals and specialised formats — from Les Transmusicales to Les Vieilles Charrues — with notable appearances in France and abroad.
