Youthstar

Born in London, Youthstar first developed his career in France within the drum and bass scene alongside Elisa Do Brasil from 2004 to 2009. An MC at the crossroads of hip-hop and bass music, he made his mark primarily as a live performer: he joined Dirtyphonics as a host in 2009 and went on to work with the Austrian duo Camo & Krooked from 2011 to 2016. From 2014 he also appeared on stage with Chinese Man before becoming more closely integrated into their collective — a shift that broadened his range toward more open forms mixing rap, dub and electronic productions. As a solo artist, Youthstar released the EPs SAMOD and Back To The Sauce on Chinese Man Records, produced by Senbei and featuring Dope D.O.D., Deluxe, Big Red and Foreign Beggars. He also leads a collaborative project with Miscellaneous of Chill Bump, which produced Out Past Curfew (2021), Stranger Times (2022) and Salvation (2023).
