Silicone Soul
Formed in Glasgow by Craig Morrison and Graeme Reedie, Silicone Soul have developed since 1998 a sound rooted in British house—designed for the club yet often infused with deeper textures, restrained melodic lines and a nocturnal atmosphere. Their trajectory is first built around Soma Quality Recordings, a central label in the Scottish electronic scene, and later extends to Darkroom Dubs, the imprint the duo founded for their own productions and related projects. Their discography includes the albums A Soul Thing (2000), Staring into Space (2005), Save Our Souls (2006), Silicone Soul (2009) and The Soma 20 Remixes (2012). In 2001 the track “Right On!”, featuring Louise Claire Marshall, gave Silicone Soul broader exposure across European clubs and reached number one on the UK Dance Singles chart. Through production, remixing and DJ work, Silicone Soul sit within a house continuum where rhythmic efficiency, repetitive motifs and a more subdued, nuanced approach to sound converge.
