Scratch Massive
Formed in Paris in the late 1990s, Scratch Massive brings together producer-composer Maud Geffray and musician Sébastien Chenut around a dark, melodic electronic aesthetic informed by techno, new wave and a cinematic approach to sound. The duo emerged on the French club scene with dancefloor-oriented maxi singles before releasing the 2003 album Enemy & Lovers, which began a shift toward more song-based formats where drum machines, lush synth layers and guest vocals shape tracks intended as much for listening as for the night. With Nuit de rêve (2011), Scratch Massive emphasized a more synth-pop and cold wave facet, multiplying vocal collaborations and mid-tempo constructions often bordering on soundtrack territory. Alongside their studio releases, the project has developed substantial work composing for moving image—from films to more experimental video projects—and performs live as an immersive electronic show, halfway between a club set and a concert, which Scratch Massive regularly presents across Europe and internationally.
