Rendez-vous

Active in Paris since 2012, Rendez‑Vous operates within a taut, frontal post‑punk, fed by cold wave, synthpunk and a dark songwriting approach where nervous basslines, angular guitars, austere keyboards and dry rhythms intersect. The band formed around Francis Mallari and Elliot Berthault, joined the same year by Maxime Gendre and Simon Dubourg, and later by Guillaume Rottier on drums in 2018, evolving Rendez‑Vous into a five‑piece. After a first self‑titled EP in 2014, Rendez‑Vous refined its aesthetic with Distance in 2016, which accompanied their initial concerts in France and across Europe. The group then moved through club and festival stages, while developing a denser, more direct sound. This path led to Superior State in 2018, the first album released on their own label Artefact with CryBaby, followed by the single Irina in 2020. In 2024 Rendez‑Vous returns with Downcast, a second album that extends their trajectory between post‑punk tension, dark electronic textures and a stage energy forged through French and European tours.
