Juliette
Born in Paris in 1962 and taught piano from an early age, Juliette Noureddine grew up between Suresnes and Toulouse, where she made her stage debut in the early 1980s, often in a piano‑and‑voice format. She was noticed at the Découvertes of the Printemps de Bourges in 1985 and 1986. Performing under the name Juliette, she developed a form of chanson française closely tied to interpretation, storytelling and stagecraft, with writing that mixes humour, portraits, dark fantasy and literary references. Her world draws on cabaret tradition, chanson réaliste, tango, jazz, Latin musics and a classical sensibility audible in both harmonies and orchestrations. After the live record ¿Qué tal? (1991), Juliette released Irrésistible (1993), Rimes féminines (1996) and Assassins sans couteaux (1998), initially with lyricist Pierre Philippe, then with collaborators such as Didier Goret and François Rauber. Her subsequent releases include Le Festin de Juliette (2002), Mutatis mutandis (2005), Bijoux et babioles (2008), No Parano (2011), Nour (2013), J’aime pas la chanson (2018) and Chansons de là où l’œil se pose (2023), produced with Renaud Letang. Juliette has also worked with Jean Guidoni, Vincent Ségal and Olivia Ruiz, and has performed on stages like L’Olympia, while maintaining a central commitment to recital and piano composition.
