Nick Curly

Under the name Nick Curly, Nico Döhringer has developed a career from Mannheim within the German house scene, situated between deep house, tech house and a restrained aesthetic inherited from the European club scenes of the 2000s. He began DJing around 1995 in regional clubs and released his first EP, Craving, in 2004 on his own label Amused 8bit. In 2006 he continued this work together with Gorge under the name 8bit Records, and in 2007 he co-founded the Cécille label with Marc Scholl, a step that helped broaden his international presence. His trajectory has since been firmly rooted in the club and festival circuit, with appearances at Time Warp, Sonus, Awakenings and SonneMondSterne, and regular dates in Ibiza from 2009. In his productions Nick Curly favors crisp rhythms, supple basslines and a direct groove without excess. His discography includes the album Between the Lines, released in 2012 on Cécille, and a string of EPs released since the mid-2000s, including Silom (2007), Pujante (2009), Ancient People (2010), Trust (2014), Reverie (2015), Helter Skelter (2016), Amnezia (2017), Ezeiza (2018) and Zero Love (2019).
