Nervosa

Formed in São Paulo in 2010 around guitarist Prika Amaral, Nervosa first established itself in the wake of Brazilian thrash metal with a fast, dry, upfront sound, nourished by the 1980s thrash legacy and gradually opening to more pronounced death-metal influences. After a first demo in 2012, the band released Victim of Yourself in 2014, followed by Agony in 2016 and Downfall of Mankind in 2018, a period during which Nervosa toured extensively in South America and Europe, sharing the stage with acts from the international thrash scene. Marked by several lineup changes, Nervosa's story took a new turn in 2020 around Prika Amaral, the sole founding member remaining, ahead of the 2021 release Perpetual Chaos. In 2023, Prika Amaral also took on vocals and led a new configuration of the band, with which Nervosa released Jailbreak the same year. Between sharp riffs, dense drums and a gravelly vocal, Nervosa developed a direct, aggressive, and legible aesthetic, focused on rhythmic efficiency as well as the darker tension that emerged across the albums. The band remains today associated with sustained live activity on European and international metal circuits.
