Clwb Ifor Bach presents Xentrix and Nervosa.
Xentrix, thrash metal band from the UK formed in Preston, evolves in the British thrash metal scene of the late 1980s. The band develops a style based on fast riffs, a tight rhythm section and direct vocals, gradually integrating more technical arrangements and elements close to progressive metal. After Shattered Existence in 1989 and For Whose Advantage? in 1990, Xentrix releases Kin in 1992 with more complex structures, then Scourge in 1996. Split in 1997, Xentrix reforms in 2005 for a series of concerts, then resumes activity in 2013, leading to the albums Bury the Pain in 2019 and Seven Words in 2022.
Nervosa, thrash metal band formed in São Paulo in 2010 around guitarist Prika Amaral, first stands out in the Brazilian thrash scene with a fast and direct sound, influenced by 1980s thrash and progressively incorporating stronger death metal elements. After a first demo in 2012, the band releases Victim of Yourself in 2014, Agony in 2016 and Downfall of Mankind in 2018, followed by extensive touring in South America and Europe. Marked by several line-up changes, Nervosa starts a new chapter in 2020 around Prika Amaral, remaining founding member, and releases Perpetual Chaos in 2021. In 2023, Prika Amaral also takes on vocals and leads a new line-up with which Nervosa releases Jailbreak the same year.
